Lauren has been a performer her entire life. From sixteen years of professional training at Upper Falls Dance Academy (Judith Daniel) to performing in every theatre production throughout middle school and high school, Lauren is used to being in the spotlight. Upon beginning her higher education at the University of Maryland, however, Lauren decided to get “serious” and leave her acting life behind. Of course, as any real performer knows, an actor's thirst for performance does not die easy. So, a little over a year ago, Lauren decided to venture into film. Since last spring, Lauren has performed in a variety of projects. From extra roles in feature films to leading roles in independent works, she has gained valuable experience in this industry. So far, she has landed leading roles in the short films “Syringe,” directed by Steve Nahaj, and “At The Margin,” directed by Christopher Cornwell. Her other credits include roles in “bent,” directed by Art Hall, “Going Home,” directed by Russell Nohelty, and “The Azure Sky,” directed by Christopher Fernandez. With five independent films under her belt, and two more on the way, Lauren looks forward to gaining more film experience and meeting the talented cast and crew of “Aduri.” To learn more about Lauren, you can visit her website at: http://www.wam.umd.edu/ ~lmeley3/ .
